“Walking on Water” proposes two radical transformations to the space of 8 ½. The entire floor is covered with an impermeable asphalt membrane capable of containing a thin layer of water. The glass enclosing the space is dismantled and leaned against the back wall. This alteration allows for a slightly flooded interior to temporarily coexist as an extension of the public space. This transformation enables access to a space that has always been viewed from the outside, with the condition of walking on water. The proposal tests and challenges the resilience of 8 ½ in its civic coexistence.
